Postnatal Mum and Baby Yoga 
 
 
Suitable for mums and babies from 4 weeks to crawling, this class is fun for both mum and baby.  No yoga experience needed.
 
Designed to nurture and support women through this exciting yet challenging time of change and discovery. The class uses your baby to help get your body back into shape through a series of gentle adapted yoga postures, as well as relieving stress in shoulders that are tired from nursing and carrying your baby.
 
By practising yoga with your baby you will discover how to become centred and present in their world, cultivating a mindfulness that enhances parenting both on and off the mat.
 
Class description:
 
This class is not like a normal yoga class you might have attended before,  the focus is purely on mum and baby together.  Baby comes first, so if your baby needs feeding, winding, nappy changing or to cry or sleep....don't worry just go with the flow. 
 
The focus for mum in the class is postnatal recovery, working particularly with pelvic floor and abdominal strength, pelvic stability, and practices which help to keep the chest open. Babies will be involved in the class by using them when doing postures. 
 
The focus for baby is to introduce singing and other sounded practices, practising lifts and carries, baby yoga stretches and dry massage.  This will help both mum and baby learn new ways to bond and communicate with each other.
 
The class finishes with relaxation for mum and baby and again depending on how baby is feeling, it can take place sitting, lying, walking or feeding. 
 
After the class why not enjoy a coffee with other mums in one of the child friendly cafe's in the area!  A great way of meeting new mums, catching up on the latest baby news and a good excuse for a bun! 
 
What to bring:
 
Just bring yourself and baby, a non-slip yoga mat, cushion and a blanket to place your baby on.
